Phantom 3 ????

Hi there I've phantom 3 a few weeks ago It crashed (my error I did not chance the Rth) I did not find it to the following day broken gimble and 1 propeller I'm assuming 1 motor all fixable but when I switched it on everything was fine until I started the motors up after about 5 seconds it caught fire from where I can see is the battery has any1 experienced this . I've another in the post just tryin to find out wat went wrong thanks

The battery is burnt but it doesn't look like the battery was the problem I'm thinkin it was the board as the damage is more inside the drone than the battery if that makes sense the battery looks like it's just got surface damage because of this I will attach pic when I am home cheers

Was the back left motor that was damaged

If you would disassemble the upper shell from the lower shell everyone could get a better look at it.

It’s obvious that there was a short circuit in that area.

I think it’s unlikely that you’ll find the exact cause of the catastrophe. It’s sad to see the extent of the damage.

I've tryed the battery hold for 5 second an 3 lights are stayin on and 1 is flashing which indicates a broken cell am sure . So would that make the battery unsafe it's my 2nd battery just sad the price of them ?

The 5 second hold on the battery switch tells you the percentage of battery health. 3 lights staying on means the battery has approximately 75% life.

I think because of the damaged motor the esc mosfets burned and short the battery.
