If you connect to the web and use MLAT that will reveal the Mode S stuff as well. (If there are enough receivers locally) Don't forget manned aviation has to start integrating this stuff by 2020 and DJI gear and Pixhawk powered stuff can already be retrofitted.

My office is under the approach to Runway 10 of KBWI and the app is pretty on the money for those aircraft equipped with ADS-B.

On the Lake Huron shoreline of Michigan I have had ultra lights pop over the trees without warning. Also military aircraft like to fly low near the Mackinaw Bridge and then follow the shoreline . You can see the rivets on the jets. You have to look and listen for them.

Military helicopters do not show up on flightradar. They sometimes fly under 400 ft. I am not in a no fly zone. They do not show up on the screen.
FlightRadar and similar websites use several sources for aircraft detection, most commonly they use ADS-B. Not all General Aviation aircraft, to which helicopters would count normally, are equipped with transponders that are capable of emitting ADS-B data, so they would not show via regular means on FlightRadar.
