Video editing

I am just getting started and I am wondering what people are using for video editing with a Mac.

I have been using gopro studio and iMovie . My old lady got me Final Cut Pro X just started playing with it I can say it dose way more than I will ever need .

Gopro studio just a bit, Final Cut Express a lot. I also find mpeg streamclip and Handbrake very useful for that always-needed format conversion.

I've been using iMovie and have been pretty happy.

For the FCP folks, what does it give you over iMovie? Is it easy to use and intuitive, or do you really need to be into video editing to make good use of it? I was thinking about making the leap, but for $300 it needs to be a big difference. Maybe the free trial will answer my questions.

Using Serif MoviePlus x6, or more appropriately, learning to use MoviePlus x6. Not intuitive, but as I learn more and more, it gets easier and easier.

Final Cut Pro *is* intuitive...once you get used to it. There's a learning curve, but once you "get" it, it makes total sense!

For most people, iMovie is a great place to start. The most recent version of iMovie has lots of features that FCP has, and it handles GoPro footage very well.
