just crashed my fc40 into a pool looking to upgrade, on the Phantom Vision am I right to understand you can control camera to go up or down and from right to left from your iphone and phone also displays telelmetry?

Only up and down on the vision

You can move the camera up and down to a degree with the vision. With the plus, you have greater range. You can also add a new gimbal to the vision like the Rotorpixel and have full range. With my P2V and RP gimbal I can look straight down.

Both Visions give full telemetry in the display of your phone.

I bought a P2V a year ago and added the RP gimbal three months later. Still flying!
I just bought a second USED P2V and outfitted it with the RP gimbal. It's a solid setup.
