SD card in controller vs aircraft P4

Can anyone advise on the different function fulfilled by the SD card in the phantom4 aircraft vs the micro SD card in the controller? Do they interact or have different functions? Where should the one with most memory sit?

The Phantom 4 remote controller does not contain a micro SD card.

Maybe i should have said phantom 4 pro. The micro SD card slots sits between the HDMI and micro uSB port

Ah, the Phantom 4 Pro+? That SD card can be used to install firmware on the remote controller.

Installing firmware via local install is the only use I have found for the sd in the RC of my p4p+, there may be other good uses for it but I haven't found them yet. You would want (I think) the fast big card in the AC so it can record your pictures and videos.
