Plastic bit on camera for transportation

Just wondering is it worth putting that clear plastic bit back on the camera to stop it swinging about on the gimbal
after each flight?

I have for the last few flights as my phantom is still only a weeks old and don't know how robust the gimbal is!

Do you bother?

Yes, it is a good idea, The gimbal is a sensitive little soul..........

I do it every time. Can't hurt but can really help if you drop it.

I put the gimbal lock on every time my Phantom goes back in the case. The gimbal is fragile and will flop around when it's powered down.

I use it but I wish they made a better way of locking it. Sometimes it takes me a few seconds to try to get it to lock in place.

I use a gimbal lock every time I put the thing back in its case, but I find the DJI gimbal lock to be cumbersome, so I went with one from Hobby Tiger. Much better than the DJI OEM version, which doesn't work if you have a screw-on filter.

I have a PolarPro lock like that one. It only fits my P4 though. I've tried some 3rd party Phantom 3 gimbal locks, but none of them work really well.

Always. And for transport, add a rubber band, cause the thing falls off half the time.

Generally when moving back into the house after a flight or two, no.

However anytime it is transported (car or motorcycle) the locks are put on.

I don't use a gimbal stabilizer. I haven't noticed any ill effects.
