I have a P4P+ and am wondering if I need a ultra high speed SD Card for the controller or is a U1 card ok. I know that I need a U3 for the bird, because of the 4K-60 but what about the RC?

You actually don't need an SD card in the controller at all. The only real propose for it is if you want to use it for firmware updates. For that purpose, the speed rating doesn't matter at all.
