New, replacement P3S controller password?

I just purchased a new replacement controller but cannot get it connected to the P3 because it will not accept what I believe to be the default password of 12341234.
I have had amy P3 Standard for more than a year. My firmware is up to date. My DJI app is up to date. I modified my previous controller to improve its range, but I dont think it helped. So I bought a new controller.
Any suggestions?

You can reset the Wi-Fi password back to "12341234" like this:

The OP said he can't get the controller to connect to the Phantom.
The password of 12341234 is for connecting a device (phone or tablet) to the controller's WiFi.
Maybe it requires that the new controller be linked to the Phantom.

Just hit the button located under the bird. There's a red light. Take a pen and be careful not to brake it. Push it in until the red light flashes.

Next toggle the S1 switch on the remote back and forth until it beeps.

While it is beeping take your pen and push the button on the bird again. That will link it without the AP or passwords ect.
