Ha! I wish I would have said "unless you work at Apple" which I almost did.
I have a friend that was going to buy me mine at 5% off plus 3.5% post prosecution tax which would have been 8% off but I still couldn't wait.
He also promised me he would hold one for me.
So far, everyone is getting the first round as of this morning.
Where do you work at Apple? I'm friends with the SoCal regional manager.

I don't know why it is but when it comes to electronics, unless it's musical instruments, we always get the best prices.
Sometimes by a lot to the point where when I was really into music, I knew people that would make good livings illegally shipping music from China to America because buying a piano in China is sometimes 1/2 the cost than here.
Yeah, that's one of the rare occasions that things are cheaper on the other side. I learned this when I was buying lots of music gear. In Japan and China, they pay way less than us (USA)
UK and the EU in general get screwed not only on MSRP but your vat is higher.
Sorry dude. Probably because there is more of us buying? Never understood that one so as one with empathy I feel bad but as one with narcissism, yay me.
1 Australian Dollar is equal to about .74 US Dollar so you are actually paying the same amount.

Canada is getting the p4 for $1880 CAD
Aussie dollar and and Canadian dollar is almost the same $1 AUD = $ .99 CAD

I told you guys why. As someone that has been buy electronics over-seas for music production for almost 20 years, I can tell you than other than the Asian countries when it comes to musical instruments, everyone outside of the US gets the shaft. There are massive cartels and gangsters that actually illegally ship stuff across a big old Merk (sp?) ship. It's big business. You can buy something for yourself if your visiting and depending on the country, you can bring in one gift I think. Canada has the most lax rules but the UK gets the SHAFT BIG TIME. Having lived in the UK for a good portion of my life I can tell you it sucks and then you get it again with the VAT they pay which is so crazy it's like quadruple taxing and then they make you pay to watch commercial television. It's no wonder we revolted.

Naaaa.. If you wanna get shafted come to the UK, where we pay over 80% tax on Fuel, 20% VAT, a weakening currency and tax on tax on tax.. My P4 was £1229 (US $1,748 or AU $2,350) - Welcome to Rip Off Britain! Great Country but S**t economics!
$2350 AU, you still get it cheaper than us, ****, I thought for sure we would get it cheaper than you guys. Wouldn't want to pay your fuel bill though. Looks like New Zealand gets hit the hardest though.
