I live in the DC metro area also! it sucks if you have a phantom 3 like me... The motors won't even start in my house lol. The NFZ is crazy huge
25 mile no fly zone from DC. I live in upper Marlboro Maryland and I'm right on the edge. I fly north and avoid southwest to avoid it. Besides that great flying out here! Welcome!Hi, new to the hobby and still trying to figure out crazy Washington DC NFZ.

The crazy part is there a three layered no fly zone. A red zone which can't be unlocked, a yellow authorized zone which can be unlocked with a verified account (i have do that) and a green enhanced warnings zone, Which I cannot figure out how to unlock.

Yeah.....ever since that dummy (and I'm being kind with that) crashed his drone on the White House lawn....they pretty much shut down the whole DC metro area. It's people like that that cause the rest of us to be approached by the police.
