Bad move on the part of Silencerco. This can convince crazies that they are justified in doing this. At the very least, they will be facing a lawsuit for the value of the Phantom, a possible criminal prosecution for violation of any state or local laws, and a police seizure of the firearm and registered suppressor.

It's hard to believe that it has to be explained to an adult that what goes up, must come down. I really want to believe that most people if they understood what they were doing by firing in the air, and it could cause someone injury or death, would not do it, but I'm really on the fence. The truth is this forum has taught me that there are some people who just really don't care.
