i think he'd also like to know what would happen rather than just a "nope". same goes for me,would it hover, would it land, would it fly away, should i say goodbye to my chick??nope
GPS is essential for the Phantom to be able to RTH.Ok so if I have good gps on take off but when flying phantom loses gps signal will it still return to home I own a p3s.
if the signal is lost and gps comes back pretty sure it will come home is really rare to lose gps signal more likely to lose video feed and signal lost before that would ever happenSo is there a way to counter this like any tips you could give to make this less probable also if it reasablished gps would it then return to home.
It will do whatever is selected in my screenshot above. When any type of RTH is initiated, your Phantom will always auto land at its current location if it does not have a GPS connection.I was unsure what it would do if it did lose gps and controller connection
Gaz80 here is a video of what will have if you loss GPS. This happen to me it was in RTH mode and lost GPS. I'll tell you up front it gets uglyOk so if I have good gps on take off but when flying phantom loses gps signal will it still return to home I own a p3s.

By default, your Phantom will auto land at its current location 10 seconds after the signal has been lost when GPS is not available. You can choose an alternate behavior in the following section of DJI GO:

If you set it to "Hover", that might give you enough time to reestablish the connection before it lands. If you're not able to reestablish the connection, your Phantom will auto land at its current location when it reaches the critically low battery level.
If your Phantom loses GPS, it does not RTH. It will only RTH when the remote controller signal is lost. And, at that point, it's RTH behavior has everything to do with GPS if you're using the default DJI GO settings. That's only if you lose signal from RC to the bird. Has nothing to do with the birds loss of GPS.

It won't return home. It will auto land at its current location by default. If the signal has been lost AND GPS is not available, how would it return to home?
