Gimbal design changed?

I don't think I'm imagining it but it wouldn't be the first time..

I was looking closely at the new gimbal on my P2V+ and it seems like there are slight differences. The first thing I was thinking was the routing of the ribbon cable but I can't seem to find a picture of another one to compare. I did notice one of the pieces of the gimbal is at least a little different, see the arrow on the pic and compare to yours.

Maybe the wait was for improvements?

Here's the one I had found with a different piece. Angle is funny but obviously a little different.

DJI needs to reinforce the elbow connection where the ribbon cable is. I am no engineer, but cannot believe that this would be an impossible task.

I've got the same gimbal.
It came with it when i bought it some 2 mounts ago.

They have beefed up the gimbal arm, by leaving more metal in the upper portion.

Yep mine is different, it doesn't have that small cut away.

Check the plastic body above the gimbal where it makes contact with the vertical shaft. This has been blamed for causing damage to the camera in cases where the Phantom lands upside down in a crash and the inertial forces are transferred along the arm. (its not the fall that kills you, its the sudden stop at the end)

A fellow Spain has protected the ribbon cable from the camera with hot glue.

Incidentally, my Phantom also fell and broke the camera as has happened to you. Now I have the camera with her gimbal in Germany to make me a budget.

I wonder if we could beef the arm up by putting JB weld epoxy in the arm wear they beefed it up ? How about removing the plastic on the shell were the vertical arm is ?
