Editing and viewing 4k.

Final Cut or Premiere to edit. Will downsample to 1080p if wont be viewed on a 4k capable device. I always shoot in 4k though, gives me more pixels to play with and i almost always pull still frames from video rather than switching between video and camera.

I was about to buy final cut pro.. until I saw the price!! $300 is steep for a playa like me!

One day. I need to master my skills first on iMovie.

Final Cut Pro on a Hackintosh, half the price gives you the same performance. Don't buy an iMac.
Forget the imac, i will stick with mac pro... lol... we all have our preferences, and reasons for them. And yes, i have seen final cut pro running nicely on a hackintosh box. Just another option.

I use FCP on my i7 4770k machine with 32GB RAM and GeForce 980 4GB graphics. Cuts like buttah! [emoji106]

Most info I got from www.tonymacx86.com . Dont get an Nvidia card for FCPX, ATI Radeon work MUCH better. Use Nvidia for Adobe products, such as Premiere.

Here is the machine I recently put together:
