Out at sea you should have no problem getting 3.5 km and more.

Remember you have to come back,keep eye on your batt level if smart return home is off,

5km might be a stretch but you should get close if you slip on a windsurfer.
Be careful with winds and make sure you won't have to fight a headwind for the return flight.

I used to get flaky signal sometimes well out at sea when low down but since I've use one of those, the signal issues have gone away.
Extremely good value for a cheap price

Um I say that could get risky,,depending how you drop it from your drone,3km (3000mtrs) is a lot of line to feed out on a good day,,proper fishing drones sold here can only fly out 1km,unsure of how the phantom would cope , would have to set up very carefully so it don't swim,just my opinion ,you probly use more batt power aswell,,take care and hope you catch something

In ideal conditions with a fully charged battery and if you have courage to push it.. 6k.

Splash Drone would be good for that but on 16 min.flight time we gotta problem!
