Not true,
I replaced all mine with boca bearings. Getting the bell off the armature is the hard part! I built a jig above, using a piece of aluminum and a screw ( also using 4 motor screws, ) to remove the bell, then using a different screw ( just smaller than center hole of bearing ( and a hammer ) I angled screw through top bearing hole and wedged it against bottom bearing ( gave her a couple decent taps, ) out it came ( then ) using a dowel larger than center bearing hole, I tapped out top bearing!
The bearings are different sizes ( top / bottom )
Top is 4x12x4mm
Boca: ( Smr-604 series )
Bottom is 4x8x4mm
Boca: ( Smr-684 series )
Several models in each series from $10 each to $60 each
But those are the sizes, you might find some generics to fit, but I don't trust them, boca is local, and this should prove my point
So I only use top of the line stuff on my crafts! Would hate to lose $1200 because of a $10 bearing!
But it can be done!

You'll need to use your old bearings to tap in new ones ( as not to damage race with hammer ) just stack old bearing on new bearing ( like a tower ) and tap against old bearing to press new one into slot, works great!
