DUH... I like to look dumb sometimesreed L, I think you are confusing bitrate with frame rate.
For slowmo, 60fps is ideal because you can export to 30fps, 50% speed, with zero quality loss. Bitrates are irrelevant.
Higher bitrates will have more detail captured in the video. Analogous to jpg versus raw in stills....more bits, more details, sharper video especially if there is fast motion in the image.
As of the latest 1.5.3 version of firmware, the bitrate of P3A has been increased to equal of P3P's 60Mbps when recording in 1080p/60fps mode.Hi there,
I see one other not too publicized difference between the adv and pro units is the 40mbs/60mbs bitrate, in practical terms what difference does this make? Is it only an issue at 2.7k and above?
Thanks,
R
Ahmmm no, P3A does not record in 2.7K/60fps. 2.7K is limited to 30fps.DUH... I like to look dumb sometimesYup frames per second... Anyway the P3A has the 2.7K/ 60fps where the pro doesn't or didn't offer 60fps when I bought my advanced
Where did you see this detail? I don't recall seeing it in the release notes. As of the latest 1.5.3 version of firmware, the bitrate of P3A has been increased to equal of P3P's 60Mbps when recording in 1080p/60fps mode.
P3A's 1080p/30fps mode has its bitrate increased from 25Mbps to 40Mbps in this latest firmware too.
Dave tried it in this thread...Where did you see this detail? I don't recall seeing it in the release notes.
Do you suppose this new F/W increases the image quality when using the HDMI port with goggles? That's what many folks complained about with the slower bitrate of the P3A.
@Noodle - If you are knowledgeable enough, would you mind making corrections to this old table I copied from somewhere a while ago?Ahmmm no, P3A does not record in 2.7K/60fps. 2.7K is limited to 30fps.
In the latest firmware, P3P also offers 2.7K/30fps mode.
Sorry Oso, all I can confirm is the two modes I have flown in so far:@Noodle - If you are knowledgeable enough, would you mind making corrections to this old table I copied from somewhere a while ago?
Thanks sir.Sorry Oso, all I can confirm is the two modes I have flown in so far:
1920x1080 @ 60fps - 60Mbps
1920x1080 @ 30fps - 40Mbps
