Battery balancer

Yes i was drunk that night. I can't do it without taking the battery apart. So I'll try to get it apart, balanced, and back together then I'll report back how it worked and y not to do it

I wonder if there's batteries don't balance when they self discharge for storage
I’m sure there is, DJI likely included. The auto discharge is performed by switching in the bleed resistors that are used for balance charging, they are not identical in value so therefore must apply unequal loads to the individual cells.

Inside the battery there is a 5 pin Connector similar to what other lipo batteries that can be balanced have. I think I could check individual cells off of it. I think instead of charge balancing it I'm gonna discharge balance it with a led bulb one cell at a time. I've got a digital meter that got to 3 decimal places so I can get them perfectly even. Bad part is that too connect to the cell I'm gonna have to use a pair of tweezers with heat shrink on them to touch the positive and negative terminals. Going to be risky I think I'll do it outside

Why would you need to make the connection at the cell? Why not use the existing balance connector?

Well I got it balanced. Don't quite know how though. All u did was unplug that Connector that I thought was the balance Connector and then I let it sit overnight. Started on it again in the morning and it was perfectly balanced without doing anything. Maybe unplugging that connection somehow allowed it to self balance I don't know. I'll keep an eye on it next flight and see what happens. I was going to do the balancing at each cell because I had 4 panel meters I could hook up at the same time. One connected to each cell. Didn't know if it would work at the Connector since there was only one negative terminal

Think about how the balance taps are connected at the cells. You pos & neg available for all four cells.

At the top of each cell you can connect to pos and neg. There's not much room between the board an cell but it can be done. On the top the board I could also make connections but I had no way to make it clip and stay on there.

I’m talking about the balance connector itself. No need to be digging around anywhere else with alligator clips.

I don't know enough about these batteries to try it threw that connection. I was just going with what I know will work
