DIY 5v strobe fitted to the rear of my P3S, powered by 5v lipstick power pack used for recharging mobile phones etc. Makes seeing the aircraft a lot easier against the sky and even at distance,the battery lasts for ages,and it is very light,because its rear/facing down at 45 deg, it doesn't effect video/photo etc (not sure ref complete darkness) ?

£4 for the strobe + £5 for the power pack. link for strobe unit ----

These things are widely available for backup charge for mobile phones etc, the strobe is available in different voltages and could probably be connected to the aircraft's main battery,I didn't want to take the chance !, but works the best for me

Have you tried strobon, self contained, small size and weight?

The Strobon is only a cellphone light, I have two and are not very bright. I did make a strobe from a T6 flashlight for 10$ that you can see for a mile in daylight!!!

I bought mine in a local store but there are many more even cheaper on the usual online auction sites etc,the strobe dos'nt use that much juice, mine lasts quite a while between charges

check the link for the strobe unit ,you can get one that has an voltage setting on it for a few pennies more,then you set it to your input batteries/drones total voltage

look at Flytron STROBON Standalone - Flytron . USB charge and a Velcro sticky pad less than a tenner and no faffing about.
