Hi all anybody know the rules about using drone footage and images on your own website I know you need a licence from caa to do aerial work but if you just want to show of a beach video you have taken of your own town or say a local hotel near the beach (not get any kind of payment). what is the rules with the caa is it a no no. even if there is no danger to human or property. say you are advertising a seaside resort you fly the drone down the beach camera pointing at the road then you put it on your website is this illegal. there is no forum with the in and outs about shooting and displaying drone images.

The CAA are not the photo display police.
They are concerned with aviation safety - not what you put on your own website.
There are no rules regarding this.
ok thanks for that but just say you run a website that advertises holidays and you put a video of the seafront but still obeying the safety rules surly you would need a licence. I'm wanting to put photos on our website we advertise hotels we have some nice photos of the seafront and surrounding areas we do not intend to charge any body for this but we get money for advertising the hotels. now if we are not charging for the service for the photos but its on the same page as the hotel in the picture and we get a order for a booking(they book a room) they are not buying the photo but it has lead them to book a room how does that stand with the caa.

In the US, any imagery taken to be used in commercial advertising would require a Part 107 'commercial' certificate.
