It's not just for beginners.... I find it to be very handy, even the predicted cloud cover %'s are useful- can stay in bed when a sunrise is likely to be featureless.

I've got it on my iphone. I use it often even if I'm not flying. Yesterday went to a friends campground. The app said it was ok to fly but the winds were breezy to 10-12 mph out of the east. The campground has a wind sock and it was showing the wind out of the east and the speed seemed about right. Had no issues even over 200 feet.
