It doesnt make sense !

Alright, so I got the "Standard" out on the bench after a very frustrating "weak/no control message in my favorite flight path under great conditions earlier.(bummed me out)
It was sending LED's like the remote wasnt binded! Any normal flyer would immediately assume it was because "I'm on the oldest FW and maybe an update will solve it". And believe me, I was starting to think that was probably the situation too! But I don't want to update from this old firmware, I can't trust that updating won't throttle this thing back to a 15-25,000 foot maximum! So I get it back to the bench and start from zero. Stock antennas birdside,DBS panel unboosted, and it works perfect, perfect signal and control , "ready to fly" in my kitchen! So I start adding stuff back on, DBS panel unboosted with 15 turns helical unboosted, still perfect signal, no problems. Then I went through the trouble of adding the one modded control pigtail with fat shark Spyronet antenna, still unboosted, all good! Then I went in and hooked up the same boosted controller configuration I tried earlier in the field, all good, super fast connect ready to go!
WHAT THE F**K!
sometimes this hobby just makes you pull your hair out!

So even in a path that I've had such great success with this aircraft, is it a simple situation where on this day there was some sort of interference that was causing me issues, enough to make me think there was a major problem with my aircraft, when in my kitchen I reveal that everything is fine. Some days I just don't know! But, I'm happy at what I found tonight and will give it another try.

* on a sidenote, to relieve my frustration with the P3S, I pulled my P3P out of the case in that same field 20 minutes later, and flew it out to 44,000 feet with perfect signal the whole way.
I just don't get it sometimes[emoji41]

So you were losing the 5.8 control signal right? And then you flew the P3P and it was fine. Right? So presumably you had interference in the 5.8 Ghz range. WTF is there that interferes in that range? And what about aircraft height? Are you sure the aircraft was as high as when you did the 40,000?

BTW I just bought me the 16 turn...

I dont know what was going on in that field! I never got off the ground w/ the standard cause the a/c led's were rapid flashing yellow so I couldnt even start motors

All I did is I stripped it down from all the wires and boosters so I can slowly add them back and see where the prob is, and I never got an answer.

Was veering off bad when going up....and would drift a bit...day before that was perfect...im stuck at work so I cant fly till 5...im ready to leave early "sick" cuz i want to go test to see wtf....scared me yesterday....i went right out after reading your post yesterday then that happened. ......

Well I didn't fly it last night, I did start the motors, but at my house everything fired up perfectly and signal was 100%.
As for yours it wouldn't hurt a thing to do a quick controller calibration in the app before you push power on the bird

This is what I'll be testing soon for the wi-fi on the standard/ 15 turn for control.
A flyer from the UK received this one this morning, this one is not mine, hopefully mine will be here any minute. The terminator panel. Pretty impressive size, but as you guys know I have no problem with a crazy contraption!

Yep (2) 14dB 2.4 panels. No it has a controller mount

Yeah, I'm gonna take that big long red antenna and stick it in rite between those big beautiful blocks and see just how far she'll let me go!!
