Taking stills while recording?

A friend with the P3a told me that the manual states you can hit the camera button to snap a pic while recording video. I have the P3p and that's not the case. Instead of reading through the manual I figured it'd be quicker to ask here if anyone knows how. Thanks

Ask him to show you where it says that.
Your friend hasn't read it in the manual and can't do it with his P3A.
It's not possible.
The closest is to save frames from video for a lower resolution jpg than you'd get if shooting stills.

You could screen capture the phones image but the quality isn't that good.
