Removal of Lens cap on Phantom 4 camera so that I can use a Polarizer filter

I've read that the lens cap unscrews from the camera and that it takes a bit of a twist to initially unseat it. Has anyone been concerned about harming the gimble using too much force? I've tried to use a bit of force and it hasn't budged.

Force will not help. Grip it as lightly as possible and turn it to the left. If it slips through your fingers, then wrap something rubber around it.

I carry two pairs of household light weight rubber gloves in my bag. I always putt on a rubber glove when changing lenses. This makes your grip more precise and also prevents smudges on the lens.

You can always use the rubber band method.

Wrap it around the lens and then you use that as a grip

I returned my first one for that problem.

Threads were knackered up, maybe aluminum shards, and it would only budge maybe 1/4" freely before seizing up and getting tight. Even a 1-1/4" Flexiclamp wrench made for that sort of stuff wouldn't remove it more than I would like to force it being new.

I'm on my third P4 and this thread made me go check. Whew! It unscrews easily. Might use a dab of silicon grease if you do get it off.
