i did a test fly today and i got 1770m, the weather wasn't great anyway so it can be better.

I tested and got 1300m but at very windy and hot day 40°C i will tray tomorrow or in the night

I had few houses on my route, actually the signal dropped a bit once the rth kicked in... But over all now the signal is very stable. I am using 1.6.8 software an dji go 2.8.0

Yes you need a battery, I'm planning to use a 3S AR-drone battery.
