I bought a used P4P v2.0 over a year ago that I used for flying bait out while surf fishing. I crashed it hard on first flight because i didn't realize i had a prop not secured. I fixed it myself, new gimble arm, upper and lower shell and land gear. It worked but i had some random issues. I think the environment I use it in was starting to get to it. Well it came to a head one day when while attaching bait it quit responding to my control and we crashed it from 5ft into a few inches of salt water.
Local guy quoted me $1200 to fix it as "everything was fried". I only paid $700 for it so that was out. That is how i wound up here. After some reading I sent it to DJI to see what they would say. After 3 days since i shipped it, they came back with a quote of $383 plus some tax. I paid it immediately and 4 days later a brand new AC and controller arrived in my original case with my battery i sent with it.
I can't say enough good of my experience with DJI. I was looking at finding another used unit on market place or here for $600-$900, so to have a brand new unit for $400, I'm ecstatic. Like others reported they called a day or 2 later to check on my experience. If your looking for a P4P repair consider DJI!
In the future, I'm going to a better bait release system. I was just using the old flat hook where i would fly out, rotate 180° to drop in. Now I'm going to a unit that is electronic and has a safety built in in case it snags something or reel binds.
