really Ive never seen it at our Canadian tire in chunks as big as the hard plastic case, Ill have to have another look I was sure I looked there a while back and all they had was the small chunks of foam for the small tool boxes

You can use contact cement to glue the foam to the right size.
I wanted a container to hold everything for the car. I sprayed the insert the Phantom came in with rubber paint so it wouldn't come apart and did this

Anyone know where you can get the grey foam that fits inside the hard shell case...I got a case that was made for the phantom 2 but the phantom 3 doesnt fit was just gonna get some of that foam and try and cut it and make it fit?

I do sometimes Bob but where I fly now I just sit it in the floor board as it's quick to get to . Gonna get one of these
As it would be perfect . Hoping they come off the price for all these Christmas sales . 100 bucks now .

Where were you with this info a few hours ago?

I just bought the expensive DJI backpack!

Those custom foam cases that are made up of little blocks don't work very well. I've used it before. They end up falling apart and don't provide nearly the same density of foam as the regular inserts. Good find though.

You could buy the cheap €27 case on aliexpress and use the foam thats inside,
