I am buying a phantom 4 and a I pad mini 4. It is wi fi. Would I be right in saying I don't need any kind of cable to connect the two. I don't on my p3s.

The Wi-Fi connection is only on the P3 series. You will need a cable.

It would probably be easiest to just use the cable that comes with your iPad Mini 4, and then decide later based on your usage if you'd benefit from a dedicated cable.

Only cable you will need is the cable you use to charge your new ipad. So you are covered and won’t need to buy anything else.

These work very well. as both shorter and move heavy duty than the normal 3 foot charging cables.

You can buy very short cables that are used with the power packs that recharge your phone, I have one that is 4 inches and 6 inches

I bought a short lightning cable too that is dedicated to the drone and stays in the case. That way I never leave home without it.
