I have made a modification with a GoPro mount and a 3d Printed iPhone 6 case to fit the mount.
Simple, sturdy and quick release.

Very nicely done! I've done the same mod - in my case I used the helmet mount which works just as well (in fact I prefer it as it comes with the straight hinge joints rather than the 90 degree ones in the grab bag).
