I received my Phantom 3 Standard from Newegg. When i connect to the Phanton's wifi SSID, it does not connect. When I attempt to connect the Phantom directly to the controller I cannot get the Phantom to respond. once i turn it on i rotate the quad for calibration. i still cannot get the Phantom 3 to respond to the controller with.without the app. Any assistance is appreciated.

what device are you using for display ? you are turning on controller, then trying to connect to the birds ( edit..contolllers wifi )with the generic password ?

originally i used the controller with the app )default pass:12341234). that did not work. I then wanted to simply learn to fly via controller and Phantom 3...w/o the app. when i power on the Phantom 3 and the controller, I get a response. i can move the cam via the controller, but no luck activating the blades. In an attempt to activate the blades/quad, i move both sticks to the inner lower placement at the same time.

i powered the Phantom and the controller off, and then rebooted both. the front lights are solid red, and the rear lights are flash green in one second intervals. do the switches on the remote have to be in a special position? i can post a vid if that helps you all assist me. thank you,

i would also strongly suggest not trying to fly without the app in the mix as a new pilot. the app will make you aware of possible issues

if you havent changed anything in the app, the right side switch ( sw1) should be in the uppermost position, but your lights suggest it is correct.

i prefer the app, but i could not get the Phantom to connect. My phone was connected to the Phantom's SSID via default pass: 12341234. I am sorta lost at the moment. I assume it is a simple fix, yet no luck here.

based on the tutorial i just viewed, loss of signal from controller made 2 of the lights reamin yellow. i am getting 2 red lights in front, and flashing green in the back.

relinking controller to bird is more than just a shutdown, google the process, its easy and worth a try.

Dumb question, but if this is a brand new drone and your first time, have you registered the unit through the app. Username and password? Pretty sure you need to for warranty and to activate the bird.

I did register my account via the dji app, yet am not sure if something else is needed. When the app is connected to the phantom's SSID, I cannot get the app to recognize the quad.

I haven't had a PS3 for a long time but if the AC and RC lights are both green, then you should be linked and ready to fly. You can actually fly without your device, the wifi generated from the drone enables you to select it in the list of wifi options to enable the app to work. I've only used iOS devices but had to make sure nothing was running in the background, turn off my cellular service and basically run the package as a closed loop. Both S1 and S2 are in the top position. Can you get into a camera view at all, post up a screen shot?

Thank you for your assistance. I am not currently in a position to check. I will do so tomorrow. I feel s1 and s2 we're not in the up most position for what it is worth.

Exactly!

Front lights just for looks, solid red ,,flashing green good, means it got gps ,yip switchs up,phantom password in quick start book,if not have one download it and read,

I think I had the same issue as you. I set up my DJI account and went to fly for the first time (by initiating auto-takeoff) but saw a yellow warning text on the left side of the screen blinking something like "warning: activate device". Then I had to update the firmware (download to phone AND upload to drone) and complete an "activation" process. Then the activation warning message went away and I was able to get the bird in the air.

@trauts14,
Welcome to the forum!

I don't think your completely registered.

I wouldn't fly it without the app, it least not in the first 3 months.

#1 Most important what are you using for a mobile device?
