So first time up in the drone and what an experience. Loved every minute and learnt there is a lot to think about when your in the air. Didn’t land with the auto landing as it was quite a bit off when trying to land. About 6 foot. So cancelled auto land and landed it manually twice...and no crashes [emoji1303].
Problem is I put the footage onto my computer and to my horror it was really grainy. Thinking I had the iso to far up I checked my settings. ISO was set to 800 and shutter delay was set to 120th. Was a cloudy evening but the sun was shinning as it was setting. Any ideas what’s best to set it up as a base setup?

Many thanks

Steve

First check light conditions with camera settings - Auto. Keep ISO as low as possible:100 - 400 and shutter speed = 2 x fps. Then switch to Manual with appropriate parameters and fine tune using +/- EV.

Hi everyone.

Two factors are responsible for the formation of granular wool:
- ISO set
- Bitrate
- Style settings
In your case, the combination of high ISO + weak bitrate gives such a weak video material. Unfortunately, we can not do much if we film in difficult conditions (morning, dusk, night). From my experience I know that the darker the better to lower the resolution. Instead of 4K change to FullHD and the grain will be visible to me. While at night ISO must be increased quite a bit, FPS must be given as low as possible. I often when I fly at night I have 30 fps (ntsc) or even 25 fps (pal) and I try not to make sudden turns. The next action you can do is set the contrast to +1 or 2 and decrease the sharpness to -1. The greater contrast will hide the noise somewhat and the smaller the sharpness will also make it not so visible. For me, it was best to set Clasic. All of the ....- log settings showed only noise. At the end, unfortunately with such a small matrix and such a high resolution you will not improve much, but using these settings will slightly improve the quality.

Thanks for the info. But how to you increase the bitrate?
I didn’t even look at the iso when filming as was first flight and was slightly nervous. The shutter was about 180 and that combined with an iso with 800 is prob the issue. Hopefully..!! I had the style set to dlog too as recommended on a few vids as easier to amend in video editing software.

You are not able to change the bitrate. He is imposed by the producer. You can only combine with other settings.
