Hey y'all ... new to the forum, but not new to the air. At work we fly P4A w/ iPad mini. But I pulled the trigger and bought a refurb P3S for my personal use at home. Got it Wednesday and flew Thursday morning with no problems. Thursday evening while flying, three different times the Galaxy S7 simply shut off the screen, back to black. No error messages.

Let the bird hover while I woke up the phone and restarted the app, connected back to the camera, and continued flying. It did it to me three times on two different flights.

Any suggestions? Just the app crashing? Bite the bullet and buy Litchi? Or is there an incompatibility for the P3S and the Galaxy S7?

Could be any number of different things. My first thought is heat. Phone shutting down. That may or may not be the case. Android is very picky with GO. Some devices run perfectly, some do not. Even with the same OS. The other possibility is too much running in the background. If your S7 is also your primary phone, you probably have many apps running, plus the usual "bloatware" that Samsung puts on there. Not enough RAM possibly. Also, being that it is a P3S, avoid any Wi-Fi spots in the area.

I don't think it's heat since I can immediately turn the screen back on and relaunch the app. I'm very picky about apps running in the background and bloatware. I strip my phones as much as possible. Thanks for the advice. I'll keep an eye on it, and won't be flying anything that I can't get myself out of without the app.

Thanks, Rod ... I'll check that info.

The other night I was using the DJI Go app in the Simulator mode, and after about 10 minutes it did it again.

I've been flying with Litchi instead, zero problems.
