Wanna go higher than 500 meters? Send your quad as far as possible and press RTH, while it is coming back push your left stick up... and technically that is it. It will stop going up only reaching the home point coordinates. Wanna break your quad or attract attention of FAA or cops. Follow my advises.

So, even with antenna boosters, you still couldn't exceed 800 meters.
That's only 200 more than the max of 600 meters, not 1,200 total meters, by setting the RTH height to 600 meters. Although, the workaround could be useful, regardless. Every meter counts!
