My firmware version changes depending on flight mode!?

I normally fly my P3a in P-mode, and every time I do it tells me that a firmware update is required. I'm currently on version 1.5.30+. No big deal, everything seems to work fine.

I switched to F-mode on my controller and booted up, and suddenly I notice that that message is gone. So I check in the "about" section and it tells me that my version is 1.10.90 !

How is this possible? When I switch back to P-mode it tells me that I'm on the old firmware again. Is this normal or am I correct in thinking that this is quite bizarre?

Try updating the firmware. Maybe the firmware is good for f-mode but in the new firmware, something is different for p-mode... but what do I know?? I'm probably wrong anyway.
