Motor issues Phabtom 2 questions

I have a phantom 2 and just recently it had one motor that would not spin correctly. Would that be the motor or esc? I switched motors and now I have that motor and one next to it acting up and doing somewhat the same but more of pulsating and not spinning freely. Really wierd!

Sounds like ESC to me, I usually replace both if I ever have an issue with either for piece of mind and reliability because bad esc can cause motors to go bad and vice versa.
