I've been in the market for a phantom 3 (used), but i'm reading some info about stress cracks, etc. Did this effect the first phantoms? Anything else to lookout for?

The first Phantoms... as in the Phantom 1?
Stress cracks are a new problem with the Phantom 3. It happened in older Phantoms, but it always turned out to be caused by thread locker eating through the plastic and/or making it brittle. Some people are used to putting thread locker on everything. It doesn't play nicely with Phantom shells though.
