Dirty Bird said:We need to fit your Phantom with the mechanism from an Airsoft auto-rifle and return fire!![]()
Ya know .... we use to take the small Estes solid fuel model rockets and hang them off a bent coat hanger, mounted under the wing of a slow flying RC trainer.
A servo on a spare channel would engage a micro switch in one direction, and then another one in the other direction, with the trims set all the way to minimum for the channel, and two more switches would activate with the trims set to maximum ..... to apply the voltage for the rockets to blast off, providing a total of 4 rockets per channel.
With a 4 channel radio we could have all flight controls (elevator and rudder) and get like 8 rockets to fire off, each at individual Tx command.
We would use the ends off those toy devices that you throw up into the air and they fire off a cap (like in a cap gun) when they hit the pavement ....... and we'd load a drilled out cavity in them with a wee bit of FF back powder (OK ... as much as we could cam in there) and use them as the warheads for the rockets.
Set up targets of old toys, and in a dive ...... fire off the rockets.
Most of the time they would just hit and the cap wouldn't light the black powder, but when I worked ..... it was really cool!
Oh ya .. the good old days ... when you could buy black powder at the local Western Auto Hardware store!!
Not recommending ..... just saying .... you know ..... in case the dogs fail the mission!
