IMU Calibration info

How often should I calibrate the imu? I'm aware this calibration should be done on a flat level surface, should I also calibrate it outside or is inside ok? Also do I need to be away from metal and other magnetic objects?

How often should I calibrate the imu?

You should calibrate the IMU after unboxing a new Phantom, after a crash, after installing new firmware, and when the DJI GO app tells you to do so.

You should calibrate the IMU inside, on a level surface (check it with a level), in a location where the Phantom will not be disturbed during the process. Metal objects will not negatively affect the IMU calibration.

also a tip is to cool down the temp of your bird to speed up initial warm up times, when ive done this in hot weather without cooling the phantom its taken significantly longer to launch.
