Ok, so I know what ND filters do and I understand all of my cameras individual settings, but I need some input on what works best for video using ND filters. Do you normally set up the settings in manual mode to get the EV closest to zero and just stay in manual mode while recording? That leaves some angles over exposed and some under exposed. Or do you use shutter priority mode so that you can set shutter speed to twice the frame rate and let the aperture adjust to maintain close to 0.0 EV?

Yes, the main purpose is to have the shutter speed at double the frame rate.
I usually set the aperture so that it’s slightly underexposed. -0.3 to -0.7 is a good guide.

Do you set the aperture and leave it the same the whole video? Or do you use shutter priority mode and let the aperture auto adjust to keep exposure value?
Can you just put a ND filter on based on outside conditions and leave the camera on auto mode??
