P3 Firmware Controller will not update or generate a log file at no matter what I do

I too got the firmware update notice when I attempted to fly my P3 Pro yesterday. I downloaded the Phantom 3 Professional Firmware v1.4.0010 and installed it on the quad. The instructions say to also update the RC (which I did) and it totally screwed up my controller as everyone else has mentioned. After fooling with it all afternoon I finally just re-installed the earlier Phantom 3 Professional Firmware v1.2.6 on just the controller and now it's working fine. I left the firmware on the quad at v1.4.0010. So far no problems. I hope it doesn't suddenly go bizerk and fly off into the wild blue yonder... Just thought I'd share in the hope it may help some of you get back to flying. If anyone knows a reason WHY I shouldn't be flying with mismatched firmware please enlighten me. Thanks.
