BUYING A USED P4P

hi everyone my name is charbel and i live in lebanon
i own a mavic 2 pro that i use for photography and videography and
would like now to buy a phantom 4 pro for photogrammetry
someone offered me a used one for 1000
so im here to ask the following questions
is it a good deal?
how do i know that it is a v1 or v2 and what are the diffrences ?
does v1 work for photogrammetry?
what do i need to check or inspect when buying the bird ?

The controller model number for the V1 is GL300F
The V2 uses a GL300L controller.
The differences were very small and the V2 has no significant improvements over the V1

Both versions are excellent photogrammetry drones.
To check out a s/h P4 pro:
Does it look clean and new, or does it look like it's had a hard life?
Take it for a test fly and see that it can hover in place and operates smoothly.

Dji sticker on the top center of a V2 is gold color. V1 is silver color.
Very visible clue when you open the case.

If it's V1 with 1.3.509 firmware in the craft, it's worth it. That firmware is easily hacked to alter flight parameters, giving you lots of freedoms. Anything after that version isn't easily hacked.

If the test flight is good, check the camera. It’s Your most important function. Pics and video. Take a quality SD card with you. And hopefully something to view it on.

Your buying a camera that flies.

In the US, $1000 is high. Going closer to $800 w 1 battery. Multiple, good, batts add to the price.

Its only a good deal if it comes with the Pro Plus Controller and a few batteries.
Check for level horizon
Check for in house GPS signals.
Check for Stable hover in house
Check for sensors on the legs in the front and back.

That is a good start.

The V2.0 uses Occusync instead of Lightbridge. A big difference if you fly in certain dense environments. The logo and the propellers, but neither one of those amount to anything. The props are backwards compatible with the V1.

Stable hover in house? Never tried that one. Seems dangerous.

I‘m not an indoor flyer either. Did think that was an odd idea.

Anytime you fly a drone it could be dangerous. Obviously common sense would say not to fly with other lives in the room, but flying indoors is the best test of the vision and obs. No wind and all sensors should be getting hit constantly. The drone should hover flawlessly. If you can't fly indoors you probably need some practice or just need to stay in the boondocks.

No one mentioned the gimbal. Along with all the other functionality check out to make sure your gimbal doesn’t growl or make weird noises. When you hold the unit running turn the drone in different positions and directions an be sure it follows correctly and doesn’t “go limp” or lose its positioning.
