Are filters this darned tempormental?

Just started experimenting with filters.

Removed the original UV on my P3A, and the glass immediately fell out of the ring. The super thin rubber ring around same got deformed.

Then, removed name brand ND filter from case... glass fell out. I won't mention the brand as they promptly agreed to replace it.

I ordered a OEM replacement UV to keep things perfect, but that was a whopping $35.

My question is... are these things that darned touchy? I thought I was being super careful with both!

Sounds like you got a bad run. Have 3 P3As and a set of Taco filters, none of which have come apart or even loose. That's even after a couple of hard landings and one 30 ft fall!
