500m limit

Maybe I am missing something but I am confused. I have had my P3 4k for 2 months and LOVE it but ready to take it further then 500m. I am in NJ USA if that matters. I read post about people doing mods to their antennas. The part I do not understand is my dji go app limits me to 500m... I do not understand how to work around that? Am I missing something? I do not want to add a mod to my controller if it will not let me fly further.

The app has a user configurable limit that you can set to distances up to 500 metres.
You can also turn off the Max Distance limit.

And don't forget that there is a hard wired 500 m limit on height above takeoff point.

I too, own a P3 4K. Despite also owning a P3 Advance, I still fly my P3 4K quite a bit. That said, I've easily flown my 4K over 1600m with zero modifications. This was achieved over open water with little to no interference.
