preparing for live test in high mountain with auto follow mode ! any advise?

hello for tomorrow we go heliskiing and would like to film down in auto follow leaving the remote in a bag pack and the iPhone on forearm

any advise to do pre scan the subject or where best to shoot from? front? back ?
