ND Filters

I have some extra spending money, and I was just wondering if a set of ND Filters would be worth the investment. I had some on my P3 Standard, but those don't fit my P4. I pretty much had to have them on the P3 because of how washed out the sky would look on sunny days, however I haven't had that issue with the P4's camera. Are there any other benefits to using ND Filters?
