Mavic alltitude

Is the alltitude limited in 500 m like the phantoms?

there is no word on this in the specs

The specs don't ever list that limitation. It's the limitation DJI has on all of their drones though, so they aren't going to make a special exception for the Mavic. And, we certainly know it's able to reach 500 meters since it has a greater range than the P4.

Of course there will be an altitude cap, but the question is, is it still 500 meters or lower, like 120 meters. I would definitely need to know that before pulling the trigger on a purchase.

There is no chance the altitude cap will be lowered for the Mavic only. If DJI lowers it, it'll be lowered for all of their drones.

Yes, let's hope you are right. It's not so much about touching the clouds and jostling with planes, but anything lower than e.g. 500 meters would make the Mavic hard to use for instance when taking off from a valley floor and flying uphill.
