gimbal ribbon cable split?

i just bought my P4 and it appears the cable is beginning to split? is this normal or should i return it?

My cable looks like that too. I don't think it's a defect.

really? your a life saver if thats the case. i really didnt want to have to deal with the issue. i found it after trying to locate the "clicking" ribbon noise. i can deal with the noise, but not a damaged/broken cable. but if yours looks like that too, then i feel a little better about it.

I would even say that it is supposed to look like that, because of the tention the cable gets when it its wound up at tilting.

You are correct, it is doubled in that area for movement
