After espousing the virtues of the PH 4 updates firmware etc that have had my bird flying like a dream I got fricked today after latest update .the Mandatory do it or grounded in the near future one ,not going into details ,
it really sucks ,range shortened signal weaker than ever totally touchy in light winds its time for some bootleg software so I can fly this beeeech and not worry about some company in China (same government sending weapon technology to North Korea )that doesn't get it ,what was I thinking ?I didn't do enough research on DJI,coupled with the ever diminishing flight areas in the US I'm starting to think this was a massive waste of money .I just know these guys laugh their ***** off every time they send a furniture package to Ikea,, a bunch of ill fitted screws, slightly off drill holes and a mis matched allen wrench and instructions in Pidgeon,or a Phantom 4 to some sucker in the US.if someone asked about investing in a drone i have one word ...don't.Well played DJI

Yep, I agree! My problem is I checked them out last year very well and even after all negative stuff I found out about them I still bought a Phantom 4. I loved it until flipped upside down and flew in the ground from 200 feet. I sent it to CA for repair under warranty and of course they refused. I ended up paying to get my drone back but after a month of emails and phone calls no one would tell me how or why it happened. Their Customer Service will LIE when telling the truth would solve the questions. I talked to at least five different people including a "Supervisor" who all told me something different. It was like they were following a script rather than giving up data and none of them had any idea what the previous reps told me! They finally sent a new drone but even that one was missing parts rendering it useless! It took five more weeks to receive these parts by Regular Mail!!!

I tried to update firmware once and got error that it was not compatible with my iPhone even though I had been using it. SO, simply switched to Litchi and NO MORE PROBLEMS! Litchi may not solve your problem but you know what "DJI NO GO" dies.

What update was that? I've been prompted to do a 'safety' update over the last few days, but I've ignored it. My P4 is flying like a dream and I'm very hesitant to change anything.
