Curious about the Mavic

With the plastic dome around the camera, What happens when it gets dirty inside or fogged out while on set?

It seems like it will be somewhat of a pain to get all the fog off the dome inside. What was the purpose of putting that there?

It's like a clear lens cap . It comes off . You can fly with it on or off .

The purpose is to protect the camera. It looks like most people who own Mavics today are removing it prior to flying.

Its a clear helmet for the important parts. Put it on for protection if you are going fast and hard in sports mode. Take it off if you want some nice clean unprotected shots =)

I'll be keeping it on when I'm exploring and don't need to record any video. Hopefully they're cheap and I'll just buy more when the previous one becomes pitted or hazy.
