I have been retired from finance for 10 years. From the Mississippi Army National Guard for 22 years, after 24 years of service in armor. I formed my own wireless internet business after there was no service in our rural area. I receive the feed on 5.8 GHz and transmit it out on 2.4 GHz. I service about 30 customers who would otherwise not have internet. I started drone flying in November of 2016. I had heard several discussions about the Phantom on the ham bands and got interested in DJI and ordered one from Amazon for $1088 with free shipping. I also bought a DJI battery for about $115 and built my own sunshade out of tape and black construction paper. I fly mostly around my neighborhood which has 18 houses, several lakes and lots of trees. I have a 110 foot ham radio/internet tower so I have my RTH set to 35 meters to clear everything. The photography aspect of drone flying is beginning to really interest me. My son flies a Mavic and is also a ham radio operator, KE5HJO, and is also a part time professional photographer. He has already started making shots and videos for his business.
